Featured in Luxe Interiors + Design, A Hilltop Sanctuary is a private residence in Ross, California, positioned to take in views of Mount Tamalpais and the surrounding landscape. Designed by Michael Matsuura Architects with interiors by Eche Martinez, the home uses a limited palette of cedar, stone, and dark metal to emphasize light, proportion, and connection to the site.
Lighting design by Vita Pehar Design is integrated throughout the residence to support the architecture without calling attention to itself. A measured, layered approach provides both ambient and task lighting, helping define spaces and transitions while allowing the interiors to respond naturally to changes in daylight.
